Smile Within – Integrative Therapies

A therapeutic scaffolding for wholeness, where safety and curiosity guide the exploration of your human experience.

Hello and welcome.

Smile Within offers integrative counselling grounded in relational, somatic, and systemic approaches. As a qualified therapist, my work supports individuals in developing a deeper, more compassionate relationship with themselves and one that honours the interconnectedness of mind, body, family systems, and lived experience.

Beginning this work can feel both edgy and enlivening. Often, we move through life shaped by unconscious patterns formed through early attachment experiences, family dynamics, cultural conditioning, and nervous system adaptations. Much of this occurs beneath awareness - held within the body and influencing behaviour, relationships, and emotional responses.

Therapy here is not about fixing what is broken. It is about creating the safety to be with what is present, and gently understanding how your internal world has organised itself to adapt and survive.

An Integrative Approach

My approach invites awareness, emotional safety, and felt experience as pathways toward integration. Rather than focusing solely on symptom reduction, the work centres on understanding how psyche and soma communicate and how different parts of the self-function to protect, adapt, and respond to life’s experiences.

Smile Within integrates:

  • Relational counselling informed by attachment, behavioural, and psychodynamic perspectives
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS / parts work)
  • Systemic and Family Constellations
  • Conscious Connected Breathwork
  • Embodied and nervous-system-informed therapeutic practices

At its core, this work is an evolving process of reconnection - within the individual and in relationship to the wider systems they belong to. Wholeness here does not mean the absence of struggle; it means increasing capacity to remain in relationship with your experience.

Self discovery and leadership emerges through validation, witnessing, and a regulated therapeutic relationship that honours each person’s pace and readiness.

What This Work Supports

This practice may be supportive for individuals who are:

  • Exploring relational or attachment patterns
  • Experiencing stress, anxiety, or nervous system overwhelm
  • Navigating life transitions or identity shifts
  • Living with the impact of early relational experiences
  • Seeking depth-oriented therapy that includes embodied awareness

Rather than reducing experience to diagnosis alone, therapy here honours the complexity and uniqueness of each person’s lived story. You do not need to feel “well” to begin and only willing to explore with support.

About Selina Stewart

I am the founder of Smile Within Integrative Therapies and a qualified integrative counsellor with over 25 years of experience in yoga, breathwork, systemic practice, and embodied therapeutic facilitation.

My professional evolution reflects a devotion to self-inquiry, experiential learning, and relational depth. The modalities I offer today are woven from years of practice and mentorship, forming a cohesive therapeutic framework that supports both psychological insight and embodied awareness. I have found witnessing, listening, validating and encouraging individuals to integrate and cultivate agency, awareness with their body and towards their inner and outer needs enriches the many lives that we all touch.

Based in the hinterland of the Sunshine Coast in Mooloolah Valley, sessions are offered in a private studio immersed in nature and a space designed to foster regulation, reflection, and felt safety.

You are welcome here.

If you feel called to explore your inner world with greater awareness and support, I invite you to connect. Please peruse at your own pace and reach out if you would like to begin.

In Munay,

Selina

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of this land that we call home here, the Gubbi Gubbi and Jinabara people. We pay our respects to the First Nations people, elders past, present and future on a land that was never ceded. We welcome any First Nations people here to community, in gathering, in ceremony, in ritual for they hold the memories and the stories connected to the land, water and spirit.  We recognise, that we meet on this land today and for our tomorrow's, knowing that it holds the rich history of ceremony, where First Nations people have gathered for thousands of years. May we act collectively, on the responsibility to live in harmony with Mother nature – all creatures great and small, all land, trees, mountains, seas and rivers… may we be forever learning about ways to care for creation – just as the First Nations people have done since the beginning.
